On the westcoast

We are in San Francisco now. We were pretty excited to get back to the westcoast. As we crossed the border from Nevada to California we had the iPod on Party-shuffle, and the second we crossed, the song switched to "California Dreaming". Trippy !
Anyways...We had fun in Utah. We did a TV show while we were there, up in the mountains. It was crazy cold. We went to the Olympic Park. It was really pretty up there.

Later in the night we actually had time to go shopping, which is one of our favourite things to do:

Reno was fun as well. We stayed at a big resort. Sweet rooms, sweet view. David had most of his fun at the casino of course... The next morning we had breakfast at some restaurant in the casino, and Martin ordered a large orange juice, and the large was insanely small, so he sent it back, whisch resulted in the owner/Madam almost killed him. She was a little too tough, but we had a laugh ! She schooled us on Juice sizes...It was amazing.

We finally went to SF. It was so awesome finally seeing a bunch of people we know. We even had friends from LA at the show.
Today we went for a long walk. It was raining-still is. I finally got some rain boots. The guys are mad jelous, but they won't admit it.
Cheers homies. See you in LA on monday for the CD Release party :-)

GLISS - Salt Lake City pick of the week + TV performance !

Salt Lake Weekly
Pick of the Week
Monday 11.5
Even as fire consumes large swaths of Southern California, one can’t help but think, “We’ll always have Silverlake.” The hip Los Angeles neighborhood might seem artificial, with its dive bars, hot restaurants and pretty young things trying to look gritty, but there’s something about the signature sound that its buzz bands produce that places it on par with the world’s most romantic cities. Gliss is one such band. The pretty young trio (who take their look with a hefty grain of salt) draws on both the region’s storied psychedelic garage-rock and slick glam-pop for the highs and lows of Love the Virgins. Like a sexy slacker in one of Bret Eaton Ellis’ drugged-out fantasies, singer Martin Klingman delivers each line like he’s about to orgasm (or fall apart). Burn, baby, burn. Kilby Court, 741 S. 330 West, 7:30 p.m. All-ages.

visions from martin........days blur into the distance

i am in twin falls, idaho tonite. out under the stars shining so clear. my mind is drained and happy to be still for the moment. we have been on the go for quite some time. i feel like i am either getting up to drive, loading into a venue or putting my head to the pillow. it has been alot to take in. we just passed 11,000 miles driving through the US and Canada. woooooo baby that is alot. i am feeling it. we will be back in la la land on monday the 12th. for a return home show - headlining the Indie 103 Night @ the Viper Room. looking forward to seeing all my friends and fans. can't wait !

as for now. my belly is full of BBQ goodies. david and victoria are quite the outdoors cookers. we have nick named victoria "hot buns" for her keen sense of heating up hot dog buns over the open fire.

it is hard to believe, but i think we have listened to almost all of the music in my ipod. i have the 30 gig one with video. it is pretty reliable. i found a few albums that were being missed on the "shuffle" setting. so now we are going through all the albums that have been overlooked and playing them.....goood or bad. just to hear something new. ahhhh something new !!!

my hats off to all touring bands once again. it's now all smoke and mirrors.
it's also long drives and beautiful fans making every show special and reminding me each time. wow - connecting is so very cool and intimate. sharing the moments onstage with the crowd. losing all thoughts and falling into the songs....

love songs.....holding songs......holding holding .....

much love,

THe coolest city since New York for sure. We stayed at a hotel in the middle of the city. Cool stores and fine vibe :-)
After our show we had to pack up in like 5 minutes to get to the Crocodile Cafe where Nicole Atkins was playing. Fun night..
THe next morning we went down to the famous market down by the water. They have beautiful flowers and organic fruit. We also went to the original Starbucks !
After Seattle we went to Salem to play for some lovely young Anarchists. The next night we went to Kennewick, and that was sooooo cool. Really awesome people and a great crowd. Thanks for all the emails, we did read them all ! And yes, we will for sure come back.

Halloween shots

Last night we did a halloween show. It was Gliss, tits and blood. We performed with Prozac and Peaches - a Portland based suspension group.
We got some last minute masks at a local shop. It looked real good, ha....

And this morning we woke up to a million leaves on the ground. Portland is beautiful.
