Parties and a 3rd album

Wednesday morning we met up with our management downtown, to sign the contract for a 3rd album with Ryko. We are very happy about that. As most of you know by now, our 2nd album will be released April 7th 2009.

Wednesday night I went to a few parties around town with my partner in crime Taylor :-)
After a very long night we ended up at The Bar in Hollywood. Excellent DJs by the way !! We will be back....

Thursday I was exhausted, so I went to Malibu again to relax. I am so gonna have to move there..

Tonight I am going to Switch Gallery to see Restavrant. They are pretty rad. You should come out and hang.
Sunday Nick Jago is playing at Spaceland, I will be there. And I might be at Spaceland again on monday...
Have a great week,
xo

laundry room vandals

so, yesterday i went down to the laundry room in my building and came across the total devastation of two washers and two dryers. all 4 machines were completely unhooked from all hoses and cables and turned upside down in the middle of the room. their throats were practically slit in order to get at the quarters hidden inside. someone had taken the machines apart and dismantled the coin slides and tossed them to the side, then the tried to pry the coin box out, and when that failed they turned the machines over and pretty much shook all the quarters out of them. i called the management, and they said that this has become an epidemic. in the past week, this has happened in 5 of the buildings they own. they also told me that all of the laundry rooms are secure in each of the buildings so that only residents of that building can get into them. this means that these are all separate incidences and not part of an organized crime syndicate. so i can only draw a couple of conclusions from this: a) there are a lot more tweakers around than you realize and/or b) that this economy is even worse off than anybody has let on.

Hiking in Malibu

I am not sure how it happened. But somehow I went hiking in Malibu this morning - I was actually there before noon !
It was really nice, although I was completely spaced out. If it wasn't for 2 giant cups of green tea, I might have fallen asleep somewhere in the wilderness.

A picture of my humble abode:

Now I am ready to go shopping !
Much love,
Victoria ;-)

Exploring LA

This week I decided to explore LA again, and not just at night. It is so satisfying to just walk around on my own looking at fun stuff and beautiful people.
One of my favorite places to walk around is Wilshire Blvd right below Rodeo Drive.
It makes me happy to see beautiful young women having lunch with very old men.

And there are so many excellent stores in that area too.
On thursday Taylor and I befriended a couple of different mechanics in Silverlake. Our original plan was to go to Amoeba, which we did end up doing a little later on, but her car decided to stop working a few times..So she took me to see Koko, who is the guy that likes to keep her car for a couple of weeks whenever there is a problem with it. I think he fancies her ;-)

Yesterday I went to West Hollywood to meet with my friend Jes, who is an excellent guitarist and also involved in www.freedomtodream.org
Freedom To Dream's focus is to create music schools within
orphanages to alleviate the boredom, frustration, violence
and lack of direction these children suffer. Please check it out !
Today we are finishing up the music video for "Morning Light".
If that doesn't take all night, I will be going to an artshow with Conner:
www.nomadlosangeles.com
Also, The Cauterized CD release party tonight at the Knitting Factory !
Great band, if you like old school death metal.

Other than that, I am looking forward to the Oscars tomorrow night.
Much love,
Victoria ;-)

joaquin

dont know if you have seen this yet: Joaquin phoenix on letterman last week. i am not sure what to think about this. he is either really jacked up and spiraling out of control, or he is doing some kind of crazy, brilliant performance art type shit along the lines of andy kaufman.

there was a real good article today about this and his hiphop carrer that casey affleck is filming a documentary about and whether it is legit or not.

in other crazy news... Madonna is the same age as her new man's grandma! damn that is crazy!

have a good week all,

D

30 minutes to several hours

Stumbled across this little story online....Enjoy;-)

Masturbation is considered by many to be the cornerstone of sexual health. Because you get to do it by yourself, on your own terms, it’s probably the best way to learn what turns you on. Women are raised with little information about their genitals, and sex, including masturbation doesn’t come naturally for everyone. Some women orgasm from clitoral stimulation, others enjoy vaginal penetration or G spot stimulation. Remember, there’s no wrong way to masturbate; everyone is different! Below you'll find some tips on how to masturbate for women.
Difficulty: N/A
Time Required: 30 minutes to several hours
Here's How:

Get yourself in the mood for masturbation.
Relax as much as you can.Take a warm bath or have a glass of wine. Ensure your privacy: turn off the phone, lock the door, send the kids to a neighbor's. Find a comfy position. Most women start out lying on their backs, legs bent and spread apart, with feet on the ground. Remove most or all of your clothing.
Fantasize for masturbation.
Recall an exciting past sexual encounter or elaborate on a favorite sexual fantasy. If you need a boost, look at a sexy magazine, read an erotic story, or watch an adult video. Allow your mind to explore any images--anything goes as long as it heightens your excitement.
Explore all parts of your body.
Run your hands along parts of your body, lingering along areas that are more responsive to touch than others. Look at your genitals in a mirror (especially if you're unfamiliar with them) and caress the different parts to see what feels especially good. Find and touch your inner and outer labia, your clitoris, your vagina and your perineum.
Touch yourself.
Using one or two fingers, rhythmically stroke the different parts of your vulva, paying particular attention to your clitoris and labia. Experiment with different types of pressure, speed and motion. Try placing a finger on either side of the clitoris and stroking up and down, or placing two fingers on the clitoral hood and rubbing in a circular motion.
Experiment.
Try different types of touch: stroke, tickle, knead, pinch, or lightly pull your genitals. Try using one or several fingers, the palm of your hand, even your knuckles.
Build up excitement.
Learn to hold onto sexual excitement by building up and then reducing or temporarily stopping the stimulation. Pay attention to how your body is responding. It will tell you the particular stroke that feels best and when to pick up or slow down the tempo.
Breathe and rock.
Breathe deeply rather than hold your breath. This helps release the sexual energy, rather than fight it. Rock your pelvis as you would during intercourse. Rhythmically clench and release your PC muscle (using a dildo for vaginal penetration can help).
Getting over the top.
If your hand gets tired, give yourself a rest, switch hands, or try a vibrator. If you're on the brink of orgasm, but can't quite get over the hump, try altering you’re breathing, or focusing on a really hot fantasy. Give yourself extra stimulation: caress your nipples, or try also thrusting your other fingers or a dildo in and out of your vagina.
Ride the Wave.
As you begin to orgasm, continue the stimulation through the orgasm. Lighten up on the stimulation during the first extremely sensitive moments but keep it going to enjoy those little pleasurable aftershocks. Your first orgasm may feel like a blip or a blast, but the more you practice, the more variety you will experience.
Practice makes for perfect masturbation.
Don't worry if you don't come on your first try, keep practicing, or try some of the variations below.
Tips:

Vibrators take some of the manual labor out of masturbation by providing direct, intense physical stimulation to the clitoris.
Water helps many women learn to masturbate. Lie back with legs spread in a bath with a shower hose and direct the stream of water at your clitoris. Vary the pressure, the pulsation, and the temperature. Alternate methods: slide your butt over the drain so your legs are up in the air and your genitals are up under the tub faucet (rather awkward but do-able), or use Jacuzzi jets.
Rub against something--a pillow, the corner of some furniture, a dildo.
Dildos can be a pleasurable accompaniment to clitoral masturbation, as they offer the fullness of penetration and can also stimulate the G-Spot.

california pansies

pheeew... happy monday... what a weekend, aye? i still havent recovered from all the fun and parties that were going on. thanks to everyone that came out to our show in the rain on friday at spaceland and all of you who made the trek downtown to our after-party and rocked out until 5 in the morning!! i was loving that you all packed out spaceland even though it was raining! thats amazing and no small feat considering us southern california pansies like nothing more than to lock ourselves indoors at the slightest bit of weather. from what i gathered from some of you that came out, you are digging the new jams which is so good to hear. we've spent a long time working on this record and to get to play some of these new songs for you is always a bit trippy since theyve been so internal for so long, but it felt really good to play a lot of them for the first time on friday... breakin it in!!! here are a few pics from the after-party i managed to take between refills at the keg.

Healthy and helpful tips !

I woke up thinking about fruit....and the blog I didn't write last night. As you may or may not know,we take turns writing blogs. My days are tuesday and friday. So now it's wednesday morning and I have to write something. Fortunately I have the new issue of "Body and Soul", so I can pass on some useful information. This blog is gonna be so exciting.
Did you know that Feb 9-Feb 15 is "Random Acts of Kindness Week" ? You are supposed to do something nice for a stranger. For inspiration go to :
Actsofkindness.org
Also I have noticed a lot of people being sick right now, so this next tip might be helpful to you. Thyme, also known as Thymus Vulgaris ( I didn't make that up),
is one of the most potent plant treatments, it contains high levels of antimicrobial compounds that combat colds and flus as well as expectorant properties that can help tame coughs. You just boil water and pour it over 2 teaspoons thyme, and let it steep 10 minutes. Another good cold remedy, which I use a lot myself, is hot water with fresh ginger and lemon juice. It works !
This next tip, is news to me, but I believe anything they write in this magazine, so I will try it out. Turmeric ! An ancient Indian seasoning, also known as Curcuma Longa, comes from the Sanskrit word for "yellow". Lots of health benefits, contains manganese, iron and even fiber. It protects against hardening of the arteries by reducing the buildup of cholesterol in cells, combats cancer by suppressing the growth of tumors, and disables certain harmful enzymes that cause inflammation. It's also an excellent tool against Alzheimer's disease.

I will pass on a few more healthy and helpful tips next month, when I get another issue of "Body and Soul".

Now it's time for breakfast; toast with almond butter and lots of green tea.
We are practicing at noon, and I need to record a bass line before then. I have put myself on a schedule, so I don't spend my whole day on Facebook and Net-a-Porter.

Much love ;;;;;;;;

tamborine

as some of you may know, i am a virtuoso on the tambourine. i have a side project that is all original work written for and mostly played on the tambo. 15 tracks of pure magic. some of the beats, rhythms, and melodies will get stuck in your head for days. thats right i said melodies. if you, like most people, think that you cannot play a melody on a 'rine, you have not listened to big D and the piss shivers. me and the shivers spent a year honing our sound, spending time with everything from hippie drum circles to belly dancers to hari chrishnas. we recorded this 82 minute epic in 5.1 surround sound so we invite you to sit in the middle of your home theater, turn down the lights, spark some incense and something to relax with, close your eyes and let us take you on a journey, a journey to mystical places and magical lands. i am very pleased to have for you today the finished cover made by renown german artist claus cleatus van volkenburg. enjoy.
