Chillin' in Austin

Today we got up around 12.30pm. We just couldn't fall asleep last night. The phones kept ringing and we kept talking. But finally we went to bed. We all had crazy dreams, I believe David had dreams of the "artwork" in the greenroom:

When we woke up this "morning" we just wanted to have a great day. We met up with The Boxing Lesson at 2pm to pick up the rest of our gear at Emo's. There was still some blood on the sidewalk.

And some bullet holes. They said there were between 18-30 of those:

After getting the rest of our gear from the club, we went to Bouldin Creek for breakfast. They have amazing vegan food, and I also had an excellent spirulina drink.

After breakfast we drove back to the hotel to park the van and then walked around for a bit. This is at the hotel:

Here we are at a tattoo shop where they have pictures of us. A local artist painted us. That was fun to see:

After walking around, taking a nap and swimming at the hotel, we decided to go eat dinner at Mighty Cones.

And then it was time for Jaylinn and Paul to go home to their cute cute kitties:

Twitter game

What's up ya'll. We are in Texas and after being gone for 2 1/2 months we are getting slightly bored out here on the road. PLease entertain us by playing the Twittergame.....See more info below.
Also, our tour with Von Iva kicked off a couple of nights ago and we are having a blast.
See you aloang the way.

May 25 FIREBIRD St. Louis, Missouri
May 27 ROCK BOTTOM San Antonio, Texas
May 28 EMO’S Austin, Texas
May 30 SUE ELLEN’S VIXEN LOUNGE Dallas, Texas
Jun 2 BOMBARDIERS El Paso, Texas
Jun 3 PLUSH Tucson, Arizona
Jun 5 THE ROXY THEATRE West Hollywood, California
Jun 6 SLIMS San Francisco, California
Jun 8 THE RED ROOM Kennewick, Washington
Jun 9 DOUG FIR LOUNGE Portland, Oregon
Jun 10 STUDIO SEVEN Seattle, Washington

As for the foolin’ around with us on Twitter... Here’s how it goes... Ask us “A or B” questions like “guitars or synths?” “east coast or west coast?”, but, ya know, get creative. Post these to Twitter with “@voniva @gliss” so that both bands on tour receive them, and then both bands will reply publicly with their responses. We’ll probably ask you guys some questions, too. So what’s the point? Fun, mostly! Driving from city to city can get boring, keep us entertained. But we’re also going to keep it interesting by giving away tickets and t-shirts to our favorite playas. See you out there...

Still out here...

It is thursday night and I am in bed in Virginia listening to some amazing music on Little Radio - Thanks to Mr. Shovel ;-)
I realized it's been a few days since I have blogged, so ..what better time than the present.
We are on our own now for about a week or so. The Takeover UK went home. We are doing a few shows around the country this week before meeting up with Von Iva in Saint Louis.

Today we went to check out the huge battleship here in Norfolk..It is crazy big:

Last night we played with Ex-Monkeys, if you like The Prodigy, you might like these guys. It was the loudest show I have been to in awhile:

And a few party pics from our last night with TTUK:

Warehouse party in Plymouth, PA

So tonight we had a show in Plymouth PA.

When we showed up we weren't sure what it was gonna be like. It looked like an abandoned warehouse. But by the time we went on it was packed with really rad kidz. They were going off, even fell into us when they were dancing. Knocked over a couple of mic stands. It was a good time. The funniest thing was after the show when a guy walked up to me and introduced himself as "dirty chocolate" and said "you should come party at my house"...Great offer, but we had to roll at that point. Later Plymouth, it's been real :-)

And here we are after the show, driving to our hotel in Scranton... I am looking for Michael Scott...

New York

We have spent a couple of days in New York and it has been great. I love New York. Unfortunately this is when our tour manager Zuhair, also known as "The Hair", had to leave us. We got him really drunk the last couple of nights. It was great, he kept yelling stuff like "You ass holes are ruining my life" and "cunt rockets" ...He really loves us..

When we played at Mercury Lounge we had a couple of hours off in the afternoon. Martin and David decided to sleep in the van. I went shopping on Broadway in the rain. It was awesome:

The next morning we had to get up real early to go do a radioshow in Philadelphia.

One of the nights we stayed in Newark, which turned out to be a big mistake. That's the night someone broke into our van and stole our gear. So sad...Here we are filing a police report:

Today we were off. I slept til 2pm, that was great. Then I went for a walk and went to the movies at night.
Tomorrow we are going back to PA. But we will be back in New York in a couple of days.
Now it's time for bed......

Brown veggies

It's midnight and we are in our hotel room in Connecticut. We drove all day - again... Spending all day in a van causes weird situations like this one:

So here's an interesting observation. Veggies are brown and deep fried in West Virginia. We stopped somewhere for lunch and I had the "Veggie plate", and this is what I got:

It came with cornbread, and if you don't see it, it's because it's brown and deep-fried too. It's interesting that the plate contains 4 different vegetables and cornbread...
Last night we played in Thomas, West Virginia. I have been pretty good at talking about the killer shows we've had on this tour, so why not be honest and mention, that last night's show was a bit different. The town was pretty much in the middle of the mountains and a forest. Here's a picture of the city:

The people we met were very nice, but about 90% of the stores were closed. And they were interesting shops too. Like this one:

When we left this morning there was so much fog everywhere, we couldn't even see the road. That was my favorite part of the visit. It looked amazing.

Tomorrow we are playing in Boston and then monday we are in NYC !!!! Cannot wait to be back in New York.
